Permanent, part-time, day work (with on-call), working 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

Duties

The role of the Perioperative Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) is to facilitate and support the development of the perioperative nursing workforce, including students, by planning, promoting, coordinating, implementing and evaluating education programs related to perioperative nursing practice.

The Perioperative CNE works:

• within a quality and safety framework that fosters the implementation of person-centred care, evidence-based knowledge, clinical reasoning, and research.
• in accordance with the strategic directions of the Department of Health and Surgical and Perioperative Services.

In recognition of the requirements of the different settings, the Perioperative CNE role may incorporate activities associated with transition programs and clinical practice placement programs as a component of pre- and post-registration and enrolment courses and professional development programs.

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this job is to satisfy a pre‑employment check before taking up the appointment, on promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

c) Serious Drug Offences
d) Crimes involving dishonesty

Desirable Requirements

• Relevant postgraduate qualifications.
