Mid-Ohio Pipeline Hiring for Accounting Manager Job at Lexington, OH Full Time

We are looking for a Accounting Manager in our Lexington, OH office. They will manage the general accounting functions along with directly managing the AP team. They will also act as backup to the Controller on key functions and be involved in process planning and department development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND REPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
• Help with quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
• Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
• Supervise and/or manage general ledger accounting functions
• Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
• Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
• Responsible for day-to-day management of AP team/processes
• Assist with annual budget planning, as needed
• Perform internal reviews of SOX controls and compliance
• Assist with development and presentation of company financial KPI’s
• Learn key controller functions and ability to provide backup as needed
• File and retain tax returns
• Other duties, as requested

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Supervise AP team and processes

· Provide routine feedback and opportunities for growth for all direct reports

· Ability to influence the success of the office

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Knowledge of SOX a plus
• Construction accounting management preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization
• Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
• Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems and ability to learn new systems quickly.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

· Education Level Required: Bachelors in Accounting or Finance

· Experience Level Required: 5+ years of accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory role

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,750.00 – $123,695.00 per year
