Royal College of Art Hiring for Financial Accountant Job at London, England Full Time

The position of Financial Accountant is a key post for the Royal College of Art. Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting you will be an expert within the College regarding technical accounting and financial compliance matters. Key responsibilities will include:

• Ensure best practice in terms of complying with all current accounting and legal reporting obligations.
• Support the Head of Financial Accounting in the production of key statutory/legal accounting reports, including the year-end financial statements
• Ensure that key financial controls are operating effectively.
• Support the Head of Financial Accounting when dealing with auditors (both internal and external) and other third-party stakeholders.

You will have the opportunity to manage a Finance Assistant and will be responsible for their future development. Working effectively with the Head of Financial Accounting will also be essential with view to continually improving systems and the timeliness of the production of information. There are also various key projects to become involved in, for example, implementing a new fixed asset module.

The successful applicant will be a qualified accountant or finalist with a proven track record of technical financial reporting. You will have had responsibility for monthly reporting, including all of the relevant reconciliations and will have at the very least assisted with end of year financial statements. Experience of setting objectives for other team members would be beneficial and most importantly you will be able to provide evidence of being able to work effectively in a changing and challenging environment.
