GENERAL SUMMARY: Learning and Development at a2b Fulfillment, Inc. focuses on effective role-specific training programs and materials—across the organization and throughout employment—to determine the appropriate solution to a knowledge or performance gap. The Sr. Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors that assess, design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and apply adult learning theory for effective learning experiences and materials across the organization. Duties include working closely with company executives and department heads to determine areas for employee performance improvement, developing training courses for new and existing employees, and establishing methods to track employee performance after the completion of training. The ideal candidate will possess high interpersonal skills for effective communication with all levels of leadership and front-line employees.
Responsibilities
· Analyze and organize content, design solutions, develop performance support, and select appropriate media for delivery (instructor-led training, e-learning, virtual, blended learning, etc.) to meet effective and efficient learning solutions
· Conduct needs analysis and use findings to determine necessary and relevant training solutions to create meaningful, memorable learning experiences for both new hire and existing associates to support role-based organizational needs
· Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors that assess, design, develop, deliver, evaluate, and apply adult learning theory for effective learning experiences and materials across the organization
· Work closely with company executives and department heads to determine areas for employee performance improvement, develop training courses for new and existing employees, and establish methods to track employee performance after the completion of training
· Develop and execute organizational and departmental learning strategy and budgetary needs for all organizational training needs; evaluate and update routinely
· Partner with Operational Business Partners, subject matter experts, and key performers to provide input and validate course content, as well as translate technical approaches into less complex language
· Write effective learning objectives that are complete and accurately convey learning concepts
· Plan, organize, and develop high quality, creative, engaging, instructionally sound training curriculum solutions and materials, job performance aids, and programs to meet specific development needs
· Ensure course materials and job performance aids are current and relevant to development needs
· Identify and utilize appropriate technology, social media, and collaborative tools to facilitate learning
· Schedule and facilitate content developed
· Identify internal candidates and provide instruction and guidance to Facilitators
· Prepare facilitator support materials (i.e. power point slides, leader/facilitator guides, participant workbooks, learning activities, evaluation tools, etc.) and conduct “train-the-trainer” sessions to ensure effective delivery and engaging learning experiences
· Coordinate performance assessments to measure training effectiveness and evaluate the success of learning solutions and learning outcomes in collaboration with Operational metrics, performance change, and business impact, as well as identify trends and patterns in data
· Track and analyze the training programs effectiveness by examining learner’s satisfaction levels, proficiency testing, and job performance improvement
· Ensure learning experiences are effectively tracked on a training matrix and all training records are update in the Learning Management System (LMS)
· Manage routine course review process: establish project timelines, milestones and regularly communicate progress to all stakeholders, while exercising latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
· Submit all expense information in timely and accurate manner
· Other duties as directed
Qualifications
· Bachelors Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field or equivalent education and relevant creative learning & development experience and skills
· Minimum of 4 years of experience developing curriculum content, eLearning programs, and virtual learning solutions
· 2+ years of facilitation and/or training delivery experience with adult learners
· Experience developing/designing Instructor-Led training, virtual Instructor-Led training, e-learning, and blended training programs
· 2+ years of experience in a consumer facing role within a business
· Experience incorporating multiple media elements into learning programs including audio, video, animation, simulation, and self-developed graphics utilizing Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and/or equivalent development tools
· Experience developing and managing courses in a Learning Management System
· Experience working with subject matter experts during analysis, design, and development to produce quality training materials within established time frames
· Knowledge of adult learning, instructional design, and distance learning theories and methodologies
· Experience in program management, performance improvement, and leadership development
· Proficient project management skills
· Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
· Strong organization and time-management skills with ability to prioritize tasks
· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
· Strong knowledge of Adult Learning Theory and eLearning standards
· Creative problem-solving skills and willingness to stay abreast of new technologies, industry/sector trends, and best practices in talent development, learning and development, and instructional design
· Flexibility navigating change in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
· Master’s Degree in Instructional Design, Adult Education, Organizational Development, or related field
· Proficiency designing virtual Instructor-Led training using WebEx, Zoom, or Microsoft Teams
· 5+ years in contact center learning and development for Fortune top 50 organization
· Proficient use of the most recent version of Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Audition, InDesign, Articulate Storyline, and/or Camtasia
