What you’ll be doing

We are on the hunt for an ambitious Finance Analyst who is looking to accelerate their career in a high-growth startup environment. Reporting into the Head of Operations & Finance you will assist with credit control, billing, and preparation of management accounts, along with other tasks supporting functions in Finance, Operations, and HR departments. As we move towards our Series A this year, the CEO and Head of Operations & Finance will look to you to support in preparing key documents and making sure that the business’s financial reporting is ship shape. This is the second hire we’re making in the finance team so you will have full scope to make your mark, and grow with the company. This is an amazing opportunity for someone looking to learn how to build a finance function from the ground up, in an exciting and disruptive business.

Core Responsibilities

• Managing credit control and cash collection reporting, including dealing with customer invoice queries

• Significant involvement in the month end and year end processes

• Managing external accountants to deliver, management accounts, payroll, VAT and timely completion of bank reconciliations

• Continuous improvement of financial processes

• Supporting Head of Operations and Finance on commercial and strategic financial analysis, business model forecasts, as well as due diligence requests for fundraising

Why We Like You

• You have experience in a startup / scale up finance function, or in an accounting firm preparing accounts. Experience of working with a business through a fundraise would be advantageous

• You’re a pro with google sheets

• You are organised and able to balance multiple projects at once

• You’re willing to get stuck in and do what it takes to make things happen

• You are analytical and able to see the big picture

• You’re willing to speak up and propose new ways of working should you think a process is inadequate – we’re looking for people who can teach us how to improve

• You’re excited by change and a fast-paced learning environment

• You love solving problems, and relish in the constant challenges a startup throws your way

• Nice to have but not needed: (ACCA / CIMA)
