BFI is an entrepreneurial organization that embraces a strong service-based culture. Working within a small, collegial team the successful candidate will play an important role, being responsible for accounting and quantitative related tasks that are likely to include:

• Borrower Financials Underwrite an applicant’s ability to service debt. Review corporate and personal financial statements including tax returns, credit reports, and bank statements.
• Fulfillment Prepare loan closing statements. Oversee loan advances. Prepare payoff statements and coordinate loan payoffs.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable Manage certain accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Reporting Collect and analyze data. Monitor the lending portfolio. Prepare reports.

Compensation is a generous base salary, plus benefits, plus bonus opportunities beginning in the second year of employment. Expectations should be set for approximately 45-50 hours of work per week. A typical day is 8:15-5:45, with half an hour off for lunch. There will be minimal to zero travel.

Qualifications:

• Education: Prefer a bachelor’s degree with a major in accounting, finance, economics, or similar.
  
• Experience: At least 1.5 years of general accounting experience and/or experience underwriting business and personal financial statements.

  • Reliable, make few mistakes
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Adept at identifying problems and presenting potential solutions
