We are looking for an experienced, hands on learning and development specialist to join our UK Learning Team
The successful candidate will support the delivery of the UK Learning strategy, identifying and understanding training needs across the business. By designing and delivering a wide variety of both virtual and face-to-face learning interventions, you’ll address knowledge and skills gaps and improve performance across our UK businesses.
Your mission
Reporting to the Academy Manager, this role will require UK wide coverage and therefore could be based from any of our regional offices or working from home if appropriate. The role will require travel and overnight stays in the UK as required.
Your key activities will include:
Gather and analyse learning needs, work with subject matter experts and design blended learning solutions, create engaging programmes to meet learners’ needs and fill identified knowledge and skills gaps, ensuring excellence in delivery of the learning interventions.
Being a subject matter expert for soft skills, supervisory and management development topics.
Implement measurement targets evaluating the effectiveness of learning and development activities to make improvements for the future.
Delivery of learning projects within timescales and budget.
Delivery both online and at attended venues nationally.
Train and support the development of new trainers from across the business.
Work in partnership with the wider People Services and HR Team as the organisation changes and evolves.
Who are we looking for?
Your qualifications, skills and experience should include:
A proven track record in the design and delivery of a blended L&D service offering learning outcomes with a tangible business impact.
Sound knowledge of traditional and modern training methods and adult learning theories and best practices in a similar sector/industry.
Genuine passion for Learning and Development, with excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach.
Strong influencing and negotiating skills, able to motivate and inspire colleagues when it comes to their development.
Experience of managing conflicting deadlines and priorities.
Proven ability to engage and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
Analytical skills in relation to people and data: e.g. asks good questions to pinpoint learning needs; can construct meaningful post-learning evaluations.
Comfortable with complexity, able to take briefs on unfamiliar technical topics.
Strong IT skills and understanding of technology
Current driving license is essential.
Availability for regular UK wide travel, including overnight.
HR/Training/Learning and Development qualification or equivalent is desirable.
Experience of either the Construction or associated industries would be an advantage.
