We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will be responsible for delivering high quality code in a timely manner while leading and working with the engineering managers to design solutions as appropriate. Working in an agile environment you will provide technical leadership and provide senior technical expertise and support while delivering quality software. On a day to day basis the Senior Software Engineer is actively helping lead the continuous improvement of our technical delivery and agile processes while positively leading and contributing to discussions and team dynamics. The Senior Software Engineer will proactively help push the technical standards and quality of the team forward. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality application, automation, and testing code in accordance with industry best practice and OFX guidelines.

Where required, the Senior Software Engineer will take on the technical leadership of a piece of work by performing the function of a technical lead on a task.

What you’ll be doing:

• Working with an experienced software engineering team and ensuring Code is delivered on time and to agreed quality and security standards
• Together with the solution and application architects, help improve our coding practices while delivering code and participating in code reviews
• Ensure code is efficient and adheres to OFX coding standards and guidelines and industry best practices
• Identify complex areas of code that require refactoring and technical debt and ensure these are addressed as appropriate
• Actively provide appropriate leadership as part of the engineering team including mentorship and coaching
• Work collaboratively within the agile team to deliver user stories; owning stories to ensure they meet all functional and non-functional acceptance criteria
• Provide appropriate mentorship and leadership across the development team
• Work with the solution and application architects to create solutions and conduct spikes when required

What you’ll bring:

• At least 3-5 years of commercial software development required
• Excellent understanding of Agile development methodology and development practices such as TDD, Kanban, Lean, etc.
• Detailed knowledge of Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment and Configuration Management
• Commercial level experience with advanced coding techniques and practices
• Application, memory, and database profiling experience where required
• Mature analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent experience with unit testing and acceptance criteria frameworks
• Advanced knowledge of relevant application architectures and frameworks
• Good .NET and JavaScript experience
• Experience with React highly desirable
• Significant experience in designing web-based, service-oriented applications
• Experience designing, building, and working with RESTful APIs
• Experience with architectural design patterns and data modelling and design
• Experience with Software as a Service (SaaS) product development desired
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS PaaS solutions
• Experience in distributed source control system (such as Git) required
