Full Time Bookkeeper Position

We’re a small but growing vacation rental operation with five LLCs looking to hire a full-time bookkeeper. This job is perfect for someone wanting to work remotely from home who is not intimidated by communication primarily over Zoom and email.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

Managing payroll.

Managing accounts payable.

Reporting monthly outcomes to owners.

Preparing income statements to our clients.

Working with our on-site staff at four locations on accounts receivable duties.

Preparing books for delivery to a tax preparer.

Basically, we need a professional to help take the bookkeeping duties off our plate so we can move onto other things. Much of the bookkeeping for our companies has been done in-house by our managers. And because we are growing, we need to free our managers of this burden.

The ideal candidate has most of the following attributes:

You’re familiar with, or able to quickly learn, Quickbooks Online.

You’re able to quickly learn our property management system, which is called Streamline VRS.

You’re familiar with, or able to quickly learn, trust accounting.

You’re very flexible.

You’re able to work from home without letting distractions get in the way. We have offices at our four locations, and you are welcome to work at any one of them, but you’ll probably want to work from home.

You’re interested in the vacation rental business, and don’t mind occasionally taking a working vacation to one of our properties.

You’re technologically competent.

You need little or no supervision after training. No need to work rigid hours. Single and want to sleep in a day every once in a while? Do it, as long as it doesn’t interfere with your duties. Have kids and want to take them to soccer practice? No problem. We’re good, so long as you get the work done.

You’re familiar with a fidelity bond and not offended by being covered by one.

You promise not to use the phrases “attention to detail” or “fast-paced environment” in your cover letter or resume.

You’re a self-starter, blah blah blah.

You impress us by keeping it real, not with big words.

We run four vacation rental companies in Oregon. In less than two years, we have gone from one company to four and the growth will continue. Our two newest companies were born out of requests from two condominium associations to bring our success to their doorstep. More will follow.

We’re starting the position at $60,000 a year, plus benefits, including health insurance. You’ll be getting in early with a company that is about to go places. There is plenty of room for growth. We are extremely loyal to our top employees.
