 DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:

SUMMARY

The assistant textile designer is responsible for supporting the creation and production of print designs that meet or exceed the needs of the business in line with brand guidelines.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
     * Create original artwork for prints, wovens, and graphics seasonally in support of multiple brands as needed. 
     * Provides production ready artwork repeats and mechanicals.
     * Research current artwork market trends for creating original designs in line with brand directions.
     * Provide embroidery design support as needed.
     * Perform departmental maintenance of artwork archives and libraries as needed 
     * Ensure prints are executed correctly for scale and placement as per design specifications.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES
     * Proficiency and expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Ned Graphics or related program
     * Strong artistic background including the ability to create conceptual and final art in several different mediums
     * General knowledge of print and textile design.
     * Good sense of color application.
     * Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet concurrent deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
     * Basic PC knowledge required.
     * Good interpersonal communication
     * Strong organizational and time management skills.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
     * BA/BS/BFA  in Graphic Design, Textile Design Illustration or related field
     * 1 year’s experience in design, preferably in the retail or textile industry is a plus
     * Field related portfolio
