We are seeking an Accountant to join our team in Hickory, NC! The accountant will work under the guidance and direction of the Chief Financial Officer. This individual will be responsible for executing the day-to-day financial functions for Utility Solutions, as well as other various duties assigned to them.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day financial operations of the company
• Own and manage the month-end closing process
• Compile monthly financial statements
• Manage the year-end closing process and gathering of information for tax returns
• Product costing and variance analysis
• Enter vouchers into the ERP system
• Produce weekly check run, wire transfers, and ACH payments
• Reconcile capital purchases and track capital assets
• Ad hoc reporting
• Manage sales and use tax returns
• Oversee inventory and assist with inventory cycle counts
• Continuous process improvement
• Other miscellaneous tasks as required

Education and Experience:

• BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting
• Prior audit experience is a plus
• 3+ years of experience in accounting

Skills and Abilities

• General ledger experience
• Previous cost accounting experience
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with accruals
• Dedication to ethical practices
• Self-motivated and able to work with limited guidance in a team setting
• Strong problem solving & analytical skills
• Strong organization and planning skills
• SQL and database knowledge is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
