Close Brothers Group Hiring for Assistant Accountant Job at London, England Full Time

OVERALL SUMMARY

The primary focus of this role is to provide support to the Financial Control team to ensure that the financials are correctly stated, understood and controlled appropriately. The team is primarily responsible for month end journal posting, regulatory, taxation and statutory reporting. This work is critical in enabling the business to measure its financial performance and position.

The successful candidate will be given the support in studying towards the ACCA professional qualification.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of month end journals into the general ledger
• Completion of certain balance sheet reconciliations
• Investigating month on month profit & loss account variances
• Weekly bank reconciliations
• Assisting with reporting for the High Net Worth business area including cost centre reports and revenue by fund manager reporting
• Involvement in the preparation of the Statutory Accounts and subsequent audit
• Assisting with quarterly VAT returns and annual corporation tax returns
• Managing accounting ledger system including responsibility for creation of new cost and/or profit centres
• Various ad-hoc tasks as directed by the Finance Manager

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU/ PLEASE APPLY IF:

• Minimum 6 months experience in finance team role
• Early stages of accounting qualification beneficial
• Strong academic record
• Strong Excel skills
• SAP knowledge an advantage
