Your Role*

We are looking for a Software Tester to assess software quality through manual and automated testing. You will be responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail as you will ensure our products, applications and systems work correctly.

Your Responsibilities*

• Review and analyse system specifications
• Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyse results
• Evaluate product code according to specifications
• Work collaboratively with the Development Team to correct errors and participate in testing for product releases
• Test new and existing features, debug code (units and integration) and report errors and failures
• Create logs to document testing phases and defects
• Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing
• Follow good information governance practice throughout this job role and ensure compliance with Ultromics information security and data protection policies in all applicable assigned tasks
• This list of duties is not exhaustive, and the post holder may be asked to carry out other duties through discussion with their line manager.

Requirements*

Your skills and experience

• 2+ years experience as a Tester or in a related field
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing
• Working knowledge of test management software and SQL
• A good understanding of the software development process
• Good writing skills (for documenting the process)
• Good communications and consultancy skills
• Good presentation skills
• The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude.

Your desired skills and experience*

• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Experience in a venture capital-backed start-up
• Experience in project management and QA methodology
• ISTQB Foundation level
• Experience using project tracking software (e.g. JIRA).
