As a directorate we manage the student lifecycle from application to graduation and beyond, to ensure a coherent and seamless student experience and effective administrative processes, working closely with King’s faculties to do so.
About the Role
The Student Outcomes Officer (Inclusive Education Networks) is a vital member of the Student Outcomes team. The purpose of this role is to project manage the development and delivery of a college-wide Inclusive Education Network at King’s. You will be creating a wide network of staff and students who empower and learn from each other to bring
about impactful change at King’s. This project aims to make King’s a more inclusive environment led by community organising principles and a relational approach.
This is an exciting opportunity for candidates looking to utilise their skills and expertise to promote a more inclusive education experience for our students and staff. This is an opportunity to grow your project management, stakeholder management and facilitation training skills.
We encourage applications from candidates who have experience from both within and outside of the Higher Education sector where they can demonstrate the skills needed to succeed in this role.
This post will be offered on a 12-month fixed term contract.
This is a full-time post, but we welcome applications from candidates seeking a flexible work pattern within our necessary service operating hours (10 to 4).
Key responsibilities
- Manage the planning and delivery of the Inclusive Education Network from student and staff recruitment, establishing the scope, key objectives of the group as well as a communication plan to launch the network
- Lead on the development of a digital communications hub, creating an engaging and informative space for stakeholders to source information on inclusive education and practices
- Support the continued development and implementation of a communications plan for inclusive education projects
- Planning and leading on the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the Inclusive Education Network project, with the support of colleagues
- Work with key stakeholders from across King’s, as well as colleagues in the department, to contribute to the Inclusive Education strand of Education Professional Development
Skills, knowledge, and experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of managing large and intensive projects
- Experience of working with people from a range of backgrounds including students or young people
- Experience of building relationships and bringing people from a range of backgrounds and teams together to deliver on shared project objectives
- Ability to establish and proactively build professional working relationships with external and internal stakeholders
- Ability to communicate complex ideas to a range of groups including diverse groups of students and university staff
- Ability to work independently in a fast-changing environment and meet challenging deadlines
- Experience of planning and delivering a multichannel communications campaign
- Ability to decide own pattern of work and manage own workload and resources
- Understand how the lived experience of students from underrepresented backgrounds is affected by structural inequality in higher education
Desirable criteria
- Experience of evaluating the impact of training or a learning session
- Experience of evaluating projects against project aims and objectives and producing reports for internal and external audiences
- Understanding of community organising and/or design thinking
