IBM Hiring for Software Developer Intern (May – 4/8 months) at Fredericton, NB Full Time

Your Role and Responsibilities

This position resides in Fredericton, NB and is a 4 or 8 month work term commencing May 2022. It is mandatory that all applicants are enrolled in full-time studies at a post-secondary institution and returning to full-time studies upon completion of the work term.

In this role, you will work directly on an IBM CloudPak for Security team, responsible for modernizing our security platform. In a world of increasing security threats, your focus will be on developing APIs that will be the foundation of IBM’s modernized security platform.

As a back-end Java developer, you will work in a self-managing Agile team that cultivates creativity and challenges the status quo. As a member of the team, you will have a relentless desire for continuous improvement through learning new things, championing new ideas, and embracing the idea of going beyond your comfort zone, even at the risk of failure or embarrassment. Curiosity is a must!

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with Linux operating systems

Experience with one or more of the following: Shell/Bash scripting, Python, Java

Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills

Attention to detail and a focus on quality

Ability thrive in an independent environment

Must be eligible for a 4/8 month work term starting May 2022

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

Experience with Java development

Interest in the cloud platforms, API development

Knowledge of the software development lifecycle

Knowledge of Agile processes

Co-op or internship program enrollment is preferred

Must have the ability to work in Canada without sponsorship.
