Financial Controller

However, in order for us to reach more customers and scale our offering, we have a new multi-year product development strategy that’s entirely dependent upon tech, and we’re in the process of building both the team and the platforms capable of delivering our ambitious growth.

What will you do?

We’re on the hunt for an experienced Financial Controller. This is a new role and you will take responsibility for the company’s financial reporting, ensuring that the financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively from accounts payable to general operational finance.

Responsibilities:

The Financial Controller will work within the Finance team to lead all financial reporting.

Responsibilities will include:

• Oversee all company management accounts preparation to a strict deadline
• Creation and submission of annual statutory accounts and tax filings.
• Create monthly and annual reports to identify trends and variances to budgets
• Quarterly and annual budget and forecasting
• Manage cash flow by tracking transactions and balances (direct and indirect/modelling)
• Suggest updates and improvements for accounting systems
• Ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded, filed, and reported
• Establish and implement financial reporting systems to comply with government regulations and legislation
• Collaborate with auditors to ensure compliance with all regulations and management of annual audit
• Review all financial plans and budgets regularly to look for cost reduction and commercial opportunities
• Improve processes/key controls to prevent errors in reporting while driving efficiency’s where possible
• Report to the Head of Finance with timely and accurate financial information
• Management of a small Finance team
• Assist the Head of Finance in presenting reports to senior executives, stakeholders, and board members.

Skills and experience:

As a senior-level role with lots of responsibility, you will have plenty of experience in financial reporting as well as:

· Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

· Post qualified experience at Financial Controller level or senior Management Accountant

· Experience in year-end statutory accounting desirable

· Experience working with multi-site businesses desirable

· Strong leadership and management skills

· Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to work and communicate with a range of people at varying levels both internally and externally

· Experience working in a Private Equity environment desirable but not a pre-requisite

· Proactive with a drive to improve systems, processes, and output to benefit business

· Ambitious and motivated to progress their own career in line with the business’ growth plans

· Advanced Excel skills
