The Sea Bean Hiring for General Manager at Seward, Alaska Full Time

The Sea Bean is hiring a general manager for our 2022 summer season. This position is responsible for all daily operations in our cafe and lodge. Duties include, but will not be limited to:

• Managing a staff of 10-12 employees- including Scheduling, Training, tip distribution, and conflict resolution
• Customer service- cafe and lodge
• Filling in for employees if needed
• Quality control- food and drink presentation, daily lodge QC checks
• Ordering, including food, dry goods and lodging supplies
• Inventory management
• Software management, including Marketman, Cloudbeds, and Square POS
• Oversee housekeepers
• Local daily store runs
• Nightly bank deposits
• Anchorage supply runs as needed
• Coordinate maintenance/repairs with owners
• Maintain daily open line of communication with owners

Qualifications & Skills Required To Perform Job Duties:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality or Business Management or similar discipline; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Prior supervisory or management work experience preferred.
• Strong background in the Food and Beverage Industry.
• Strong background in the Lodging Industry.
• Experienced in managing and training a team of at least 4-6 employees.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, computer and organizational skills 
• Understands the importance of Customer Service 
• Solid work ethic, willingness to learn, and openness to feedback.
• Self-motivated and works independently with minimal supervision
• Follows, implements policies and procedures and safety policies.
• Must have flexible work hours; day, night and/or weekends. Punctual and on time to work. May be required to work overtime, nights, and/or weekends.
• Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.
• Must successfully pass a background check and possess a valid US driver’s license.

This position runs from April 15 until Sept. 15th. Must commit to working the full season. This would be a great job for someone considering owning a coffee shop!

Compensation includes:

• $4000 per month salary
• Free housing
• Travel reimbursement
• End of season bonus
