Selection Criteria: ESSENTIAL CRITERIA (5)
1. Values : alignment to the values and
vision of ATSILS and an appreciation of and sensitivity to the challenges our
clients have faced, and continue to face, in their fight for and their right to
justice and equity.
2. Administrative and finance functions : all-rounder experience is required in: Working with electronic accounting systems to perform core tasks such as purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable processing, Banking and General Ledger Reconciliations. Supplier correspondence and communications. Assist with the repairs and maintenance of company owned and leased property, plant, and equipment.
3. Prioritisation : ability to handle varied and competing tasks and requirements from suppliers and internal stakeholders in a professional manner, including addressing enquiries on company owned and leased property, plant and equipment is an essential skill. Experience with Windows Microsoft Office technology and spread-sheeting skills essential.
4. Communication, access, and teamwork: good interpersonal skills including a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, often under pressure to meet tight reporting deadlines is required; also essential is a preparedness to work after hours if necessary. Your proven initiative to provide timely and respectful feedback to your supervisors and other team members is highly valued.
5. Security, health, and safety : A willingness to undergo a Criminal Record Check to achieve and retain a National Police Certificate (Australia-wide Disclosable Criminal History), and a proven commitment to work confidentially in a variety of risk-managed environments is required. A current Queensland Driver Licence is required. Given the potential for intra-office travel and occasional handling of supplies, a reasonable level of energy, health resilience and fitness for this role is an inherent component of the role. Questions relating to your fitness for work including mental acumen and stability, and proven calm communication with staff and suppliers can be addressed during the Recruitment phase of employment. Double COVID-19 vaccination may be required through Government mandates.
Candidates may be required to disclose misconduct (criminal convictions, prosecution investigations etc.,) that prevents an ATSILS Security clearance in relation to any conviction for fraud, deception or other dishonesty related offences. To this end, a preferred candidate must be prepared to consent to and fully participate in a criminal history check being conducted (if requested). Note: A criminal history does not automatically preclude selection for interview, and a preliminary check can be discussed with the HR Manager after a candidate has been shortlisted for interview.
DESIRABLE CRITERIA (4)
1. A Business, Applied Business, Accounting or Financial Management tertiary qualification is preferred. For example, a Diploma is highly regarded (alternatively a minimum 5 years’ full-time experience and in-progress qualifications or similar achievements will be accepted).
2. Familiarity with on premises or cloud-based accounting systems such as MYOB Account Right or Xero.
3. Knowledge of or ability to acquire knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety Standards and their application to employer-owned properties, inspections, fire safety regulations.
4. Experience working with a diverse workforce, particularly Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peers, clients, suppliers, students, or volunteers, and/or experience in a non-profit environment.
