We are seeking a software engineer to join the Strathclyde Security Group (http://www.strath.ac.uk/research/securitygroup) within the Department of Computing and Information Sciences. You will join the prestigious REPHRAIN Centre (http://rephrain.ac.uk) and focus on the PART project on ransomware and malware testbed hosted at Strathclyde. You will contribute to the group’s R&D activities by performing system-software implementation and experimentation, developing technology demonstrators, managing smaller projects, in the areas of Cyber Physical Systems or Computer Hardware Security or Embedded Systems.
This position will be an integral part of an international team of researchers spanning multiple institutions in academia and industry. You will pursue the software development work in an independent manner with a sense of urgency that appeals to our industrial collaborators. You will have a good honours degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering/Mathematics or equivalent.
You will have experience with a foundational programming language such as C, at least one UNIX-like operating system, and revision control. Experience with MATLAB, R, MQL4/5 is desirable. Good interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work in an international team at multiple sites are also essential. You will pursue software development activities of a high standard, engaging with industrial collaborators and develop a significant silo of technology demonstrators around the cybersecurity of AI with a focus on secure learning around real-time streaming data, developing financial models from historical data, and generating key reports of interest for measurement security purposes.
