Well-established educator-owned Special Education Agency specializing in children with learning differences is seeking, well-motived Certified Special Education teachers to provide reading remediation and SETSS services primarily in-person and at times remotely to children with ages 6-17. Our agency utilizes the Orton-Gillingham and Multisensory methodologies. Candidates should be trained or willing to be trained as such.

Qualifications: Must be certified and licensed in the following areas: – NYS Student with Disability, Special Education, or Literacy – Initial or Permanent.

Our center is located on Staten Island, and the candidate must be willing to work at our location. Training support for this position is provided at our location by a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner.

• Delivering 1:1 instruction utilizing Multisensory and O.G. Methodologies
• Ability to read, respond and provide services aligned to goals outlined in the students’ IEP or IESP

• Diligent maintenance of session progress notes and uploading of notes to cloud-based reporting system.
• Compose progress reports on a quarterly basis.

Job Types: Contract

Education:

• Master’s Degree

• REQUIRED: NYS Special Education Teacher Certificate (1-6) OR (7-12), Student with Disability or Literacy – Initial or Permanent.

• Should be at least one (1) year lapsed from a Department of Education full-time contract.

Experience:

• Experience in O.G. Methodologies preferred but training is available for special education teachers that have the above requirements.’
