Job Title: Finance Associate

Division: Administration

Reports To: Practice Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Summary: The Finance associate is an integral member of the team. They are responsible for the effective day-to-day management of all finance operations including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Invoice Generation, Banking Reconciliation, Financial Reporting, Budget & Forecast, Variance Analysis, and Finance and Business Process Improvement. Participate on committees as mutually agreed upon by the Senior Leadership team (including the Partners).

Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Main point of contact with outside accounting firm.
• Drive finance processes to improve efficiency and meet organization goals.
• Manage internal systems used for financial operations, recording finances and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
• Process Accounts Payable.
• Process payroll.
• Generate invoices.
• Monthly bank reconciliation
• Prepare monthly financial report packages and associated variance analysis.
• Prepare mid-month forecast.
• Prepare annual budget and re-forecast as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned. *

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not currently have any direct reports.

Language Ability:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Math Ability:

Ability to comprehend and apply principles of advanced calculus, modern algebra, and advanced statistical theory. Ability to work with concepts such as limits, rings, quadratic and differential equations, and proofs of theorems.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have expert skills in Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks. Excel skills should include advanced formulas and functions such as pivot tables, IF, MAX/MIN, Vlookup, INDEX, SUMIF, COUNTIF, AND, OR, CONCAT, Time Functions, and format painter.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree in appropriate discipline preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Proper Insurance Coverage

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:

• Previous experience with Operational Finance functionality.
• Expert in finance and accounting principles including.
• Ability to successfully communicate with all levels within and outside of the organization.
• Self-starter with the ability to adapt to ever changing priorities.
• Multitasking.
