Junior Web Developer

Permanent / Full Time (08:45 – 17:00)

We are currently working on some very exciting projects here within our Software Development Team at Dignity which gives us the opportunity to expand our team and really invest in the positive change across the company. We are looking for a hard-working and determined Junior Web Developer who will provide key support to the Software Development team in designing, coding, modifying, and testing multiple applications from layout to function.

Software Projects at Dignity:

• Reviewing our entire customer journey and transforming how our clients access Dignity’s products
• Designing and modifying our multiple client websites to enable them to be more client-friendly
• Reviewing and changing pricing strategies across the business
• Migration to Microsoft Azure and the integration of new cloud-based financial systems
• Re-designing our intranet and our ‘Dignity Insider’ company updates platform to be integrated

What will I be doing as a Junior Developer?

As a Junior Developer, you will be supporting the wider Software Development team in all things designing and testing of new applications and functions as well as assisting with our FreshService Ticketing system. You will be provided full training to complete development in various technologies.

Other duties will include:

• Understand and assist in making changes to front-end and back-end frameworks and languages (JavaScript, C# and SQL)
• Develop and maintain all applicable documentation as required, including user manuals, testing schedules, source code, application objects and data flows related to assigned projects
• Assist as part of a team on the design of components of larger systems
• Help deliver across the entire application lifecycle (concept, design, test, release, and support)
• Fix bugs and performance problems
• Complete Admin duties for the team
• Maintain excellent communication with IT colleagues, other Dignity teams, partners, customers, and suppliers

What Do I Need?

• 1 year of experience working in a corporate environment is advantageous
• Relevant qualifications or experience relating to Software Development
• Any exposure to coding languages such as JavaScript, C# and SQL is advantageous
• A positive and proactive attitude to any work given
• Excellent planning and time management skills, including a willingness to “own” a problem through to resolution
• To be flexible and adaptable and able to multi-task confidently
