Red Hat Software Hiring for Project Manager – Telecommunications at Toronto, ON Full Time

About the job:
The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a motivated Project Manager to join us in Canada. In this role, you will work as an integral part of the team responsible for planning, developing, testing, and releasing cross-product software solutions for the telecommunications market. You will work with geographically distributed product teams to help align and coordinate their deliverables and schedules. You will also develop and nurture key relationships with team leads and managers from product management, engineering, quality engineering (QE), and other functions across the company. You’ll need to have expertise in both project management and business analysis to understand the requirements and business drivers derived from product strategy and use this to facilitate collaboration across the portfolio. What you will do:
Lead and coordinate complex, multi-phased projects by guiding cross-functional teams across multiple offerings to define, scope, plan, create, and deliver high-quality software

Oversee all aspects of new and existing projects through their full life cycle

Develop and maintain the master plan, schedule, dependency log, and status for multiple releases

Develop and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, while fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, accountability, and open communication within and across teams

Coordinate and facilitate recurring meetings to ensure that all teams have aligned goals and are following the plan

Proactively identify risks, changes, issues, and problems in software engineering processes and develop detailed recovery, mitigation, and scaling plans

Identify and track cross-product dependencies

Apply your detail-oriented approach to tracking and meeting project requirements

What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field

5+ years of experience delivering technology-related services or offerings

Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, internationally distributed environment and effectively use traditional and virtual communications

Experience with multiple software development and project management methodologies and tools, requirements management, and defect tracking systems and processes

Clear, concise, and effective written and verbal communication skills

The following are considered a plus:
Practical expertise in open source software and Linux

Relevant industry experience with telecommunications, software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), virtual network functions (VNFs), or cloud-native network functions (CNF)

Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification or other relevant industry certifications
