Bank of Queensland Hiring for Structured Finance Analyst Job at Sydney Full Time

Structured Finance provides tailored wholesale funding programs for Financial Intermediaries, Non-Bank Finance Companies, Fleet Asset Managers, Vendors and Novated Leasing Salary Packagers.

An Analyst is sought to support BOQ’s Novated Leasing and Structured Finance business by acting as 1st line of defence risk whilst delivering outstanding customer services.

Reporting to the Portfolio & Business Performance Manager, Structured Finance the Analyst will support BOQ’s Novated Leasing and Structured Finance Partners by delivering an excellent customer experience. The role will involve management of external and internal stakeholders and requires the ability to collaborate with and influence a range of business partners across the BOQ group. This will involve both external and internal negotiations.

The role will also involve the preparation of Credit Memorandums, Business Review Papers, Annual Reviews, overseeing and assisting with documentation, program compliance, dashboard reporting analysis, relationship support and overseeing of the Structured Finance Audit Program from a 1st line perspective.

Risk Management

• Act as 1st line of defence risk management to ensure opportunities remain within BOQ Policy and Risk Appetite whilst remaining customer centric and contributing to the sustainable growth of the BOQ Structured Finance Portfolio.

• Complete detailed and comprehensive credit papers and memorandums on Structured Finance Partners and end-user customers to a superior quality. See all submissions through to completion, negotiating with credit risk as required to ensure positive outcomes for the customers and the business.
• Work closely with Account Managers and customers to ensure a customer centric approach to risk management is adopted

Compliance and Monitoring

• Regular portfolio and covenant monitoring and reporting
• Ensure compliance with BOQ credit policies and procedures
• Completion of credit submissions and all compliance activities within expected timeframes
• Successfully complete all identified mandatory training and assessments

Business Improvement

• Work with Portfolio & Business Performance Manager to ensure policies and procedures are fit for purpose and reflect risk appetite
• Seek continuous improvement within the business by identifying opportunities to improve processes or adjust risk appetite settings

Business Unit Performance

• Work with Account Managers and existing introducers to ensure they receive the best experience possible
• Collect and maintain industry knowledge and competitive market data
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, including credit and operations teams to deliver positive customer outcomes

About you

We are seeking an experienced finance professional in the risk assessment environment who possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability to work well within a team and strong collaboration skills. You will be well-disciplined with good organisation and time management skills.

Key skills and attributes:

• At least 2 years in a Risk Assessment, Credit Assessment or Analyst Role in a commercial lending environment
• Experience writing detailed credit submissions
• Good knowledge of accounting standards and proven ability to critically analyse Financial Statements and succinctly summarise analysis
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, economics or related field desirable
• Ability to demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and time management skills
• Demonstrated sense of urgency, focus on follow through and closing deals
• Ability to confidently liaise with senior internal and external stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills
