Nottingham College are one of Nottingham’s largest employers. Spanning across the City they offer further and higher education courses to all. Nottingham College are looking to recruit a Finance Officer who will study toward the Accounts/Finance Assistant apprenticeship level 2.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To assist the Strategic Finance business Partner in providing finance support to all budget holders
• Prepare and circulate meeting agendas/reporting packs. Organise and attend meetings and take minutes for circulation following
• Assist the business partner with all administrative aspects of project support, such as preparation of monthly project submissions and evidence
• Support on monitoring of purchase orders
• Support Management Accountant/Assistant Management Accountant with saving forward of files and populating of balance sheet reconciliation data as needed
• Support the wider Finance team with audits and other tasks during peak times
• Work effectively and in accordance with organisational values to achieve the College’s mission and strategic priorities
• Support, contribute to and take personal responsibility for implementing the College’s commitment to Equality & Diversity
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement through participation in the Professional Development Review process
• Support and participate in all initiatives to ensure the College has a safe and healthy environment for all students, staff and visitors
• Carry out other duties that are required within the role as it evolves within the development of the organisation

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• To contribute to the strategic direction and operational effectiveness of the College
• Ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of the college
• Deliver on key performance indicators across the College, aiming to deliver continuous improvement
• Promote the College with employers, sector bodies, schools and the local community, developing effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies and other representative bodies
• To proactively promote Safeguarding practice, EDI, Health and Safety and the well-being of all our students and staff
• To complete and remain up to date with Mandatory Training To participate in the College Professional Development and Review (PDR) Scheme

Skills required

• Good communication skills
• Ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Experience working with MS Office Word & Excel
• Experience in the use of computerised accounting systems and IT software

Qualifications required

A*-C/9-4 in maths and English or equivalent at GCSE desirable but not essential.

Functional Skills Level 1-2 as required.

Please note you will be expected to attend day release at Nottingham College’s campus.
