Accounting and Finance Manager

We are seeking an Accounting and Finance Manager to lead the Finance arm of Pinetree. This role will report directly to the CEO. *NOTE – This job is temporarily remote*

RESPONSIBILITIES

• This is a very hands-on role – no task can be too low or too high. (AP, AR, Payroll, Billing, Journal Entries, setting up new vendors, helping to negotiate new contracts, putting in cost controls, general ledger, working with external auditors, setting up banking relationships, managing the Capitalization Table (Cap Table) for all investors, preparing financial statements and more)
• The position is also very broad – in addition to typical accounting & finance functions – the Manager will also work with Operation Manager to help to lead Facilities Management, HR / Benefits, and various operational initiatives.
• Process employee reimbursements including managing employee credit card charges

and reconcile credit card accounts

• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts as assigned

Assist in reconciling all balance sheet and income statement accounts on a

quarterly basis as indicated by the closing schedule.

• Process payroll and report payroll taxes for the organization
• Perform basic office management duties as requested
• Assist in preparing year-end books for audit

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Well organized with good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• Organize tasks, set priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks
• Demonstrate good judgment and good problem-solving skills
• Respond appropriately to evaluation and changes in the work setting
• Candidates should have at least 3 years of relevant experience and an understanding of

GAAP and IFRS accounting rules; expertise in Excel and QuickBooks and superb attention to detail.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
• A minimum of 3 years in applicable experience (Audit, Accounting, Finance, Reporting, Analysis)
• Reading and Writing in Korean is a plus. (Strongly preferred but not required for the right candidate)
• Detail oriented, process driven, passionate about opportunity to work for a start-up – required
• Industry exposure to Pharma / Biotech is a plus. (not required)
