As a Finance Assistant, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective service supporting managers and staff across the Group Accounting and Systems Team for NHS England. This role is part of the Finance Planning and Performance Directorate and will be based in Quarry House, Leeds.

In particular the post holder will:

  • Undertake monthly and year end accounting tasks to support month end processes.
  • Work as part of the wider team to deliver an effective accounts receivable function.
  • Ensure sales invoices and debtor queries are dealt with promptly to avoid delay of their payment.
  • Maintain a system to follow up outstanding debtors and brief the Senior Accountant of any issues.
  • Liaise effectively with the Debt Collection Team at NHS Shared Business Services as appropriate.
  • Participate in relevant internal and external working groups/projects to provide information/analyst advice and support and to maintain data collection systems for its effective use by the team
  • Analyse and report on data and monitor the processing of data and information
  • Provide information to project lead on project and statistical information matters

The post holder is a key member of the team whose overarching goal is to enable, promote and support the effective use of data, information, knowledge and technology to improve, inform and support a portfolio of projects, services, and initiatives.
