The Department

The Social Work Department operates in accordance with the philosophy and goals of The Alfred. A focus on quality of life and participation in care is a primary goal of the Department. The Family Violence Program was originally funded via SHRFV as part of the state-wide response to recommendation 95 from the Royal Commission into Family Violence: to educate and support health care clinicians to identify and respond to family violence. In 2021, Alfred Health committed ongoing funding to support this work and the transition of the time limited project roles into the ongoing Family Violence Program.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an advanced Social Worker with sound skills to assist Alfred Health’s Family Violence Program in providing family violence clinical education to staff. The Family Violence Program Educator role is one of service development and capacity building. The position will work to support the Family Violence Program Lead and Family Violence Clinical Lead in increasing staff competence, to develop and share resources and build capacity across Alfred Health to improve outcomes for consumers and families who have experienced family violence.
Experience/Qualifications required

• Previous experience providing a clinical response to family violence
• Previous experience working in a hospital or health service
• Knowledge of family violence policy and service delivery is essential
