Civil Apprentice Technician

As an Apprentice Civil Technician, you will help GHD on their mission to make water sustainable for generations to come. You will play a key role on supporting a future that genuinely benefits everyone. This role is based in one of our GHD Regional UK Based offices in Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester, Chester, Nottingham, London, or Guildford, but there’s no borders when it comes to the projects, you’ll work with our team who regularly working with our clients in Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East and beyond. Think of it as gaining international experience from your own backyard.

You will help achieve this mission by:

• Acquiring basic knowledge and develop skills in a specific area or areas.
• Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks as part of a broader assignment.
• Exercise limited judgment on details of work in application of standard methods for conventional work.
• Complete drawings with supervision using AutoCAD.
• Work within multi-disciplinary engineering teams to complete tasks to agreed deadlines.
• Participating Designer, taking part in the production of technical documentation.
• Good collaboration skills
• Committed to Professional and Personal Development and Competency

We are looking for creative and curious people to help us succeed, this role also requires:

• Basic knowledge of the following software:
• AutoCAD within a 2D environment
• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Interact with staff, possesses adequate oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrate integrity
• Working towards a relevant qualification at Level 3 and attend technical college on a day release basis
• Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
• Team player, cooperative with other staff
