Where you’ll be working
Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care for people living in the Auburn, Blacktown, and The Hills Shire, Holroyd and Parramatta Local Government Areas (LGAs) and tertiary care to residents of the Greater Western Region. What you’ll be doing

  • As a member of the Financial Accounting team, this position is responsible for providing consistent, accurate and efficient financial accounting services across the Local Health District.
  • Maintain and develop strong and effective working relationships with internal stakeholders including Local Health District Executives, clinicians and other Department managers.
  • Maintain and develop strong and effective working relationships with external stakeholders including NSW Ministry of Health Finance Branch, Healthshare, NSW Audit Office and the numerous companies which have operational relationships with the District.

Selection Criteria:
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with a full and current membership to a relevant professional accounting body, coupled with the ability to demonstrate knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards as well as a record of ongoing professional development.
  • Experience in financial accounting operations in a health environment including an understanding of the current challenges, issues, risks and major cost drivers impacting its’ financial position.
  • Proven success in financial or economic analysis and creditor and debtor management.
  • Well-developed issues management skills with the ability to apply sound judgement and work within tight deadlines in order to respond to sensitive and complex matters.
  • Proven financial and management skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in relationship management, conflict resolution, influencing and negotiating, mentoring, consulting and communicating, both orally and written.
