Accounting Assistant
Clear Capital is a private equity real estate investment firm specializing in direct equity investments in multi-family real estate. We focus on identifying, acquiring, improving, and monetizing apartment assets throughout the West and Sunbelt regions of the US. Clear Capital currently owns over 4,300 units spread across over 20 communities in 5 states on behalf of its investors and the company’s funds.
This full-time position as Administrative and Accounting Assistant will work under COO and Controller and is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting and human resource needs of the organization. Assistant will help maintain, update, or reconcile various financial documents, such as daily input into accounting software of invoices, bill backs, reimbursements, deposits, and other documents. Besides ensuring accuracy on all financial documents, the Assistant will also perform administrative duties as assigned.
Duties
Tasks of Administrative and Accounting Assistant include data input into Sage accounting software of invoices, bill backs, Yardi invoicing, reconciling bank statements and other records of the accounting department; entering payables and processing checks; scanning, depositing, and posting weekly check deposits; encoding information into accounting systems or other computer programs, and performing research and checking details of checks, payables, and other financial records regularly.
This position will also perform administrative duties, such as operating or setting up office equipment, FedEx labels and packages, filing, and sorting or preparing mail, maintaining office and kitchen supplies.
Entry-level Requirements
This is an entry-level position. While a degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field is preferred, it is not required. We required at least 3 years of related work experience. Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word are required. The ability to obtain Notary Public commission will be required.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
The ideal candidate should have effective written and verbal communication skills, above-average business mathematics and accounting skills, interpersonal skills, advanced computer knowledge, and an understanding of financial record keeping. This position is well-suited for someone with excellent analytical skills and the ability to multi-task. This person must also be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well independently as well as part of a team.
