We are looking for a Payroll and Capital Accountant to join our Finance Team in our Business Services Division.

This position is an exciting and challenging opportunity assisting the Chief Finance Officer to monitor and manage payroll and capital expenditure.

This role includes the preparation of a range of finance, payroll, and other Human Resources reporting and supporting the Senior Finance Management to develop and maintain a high-quality financial system and internal controls.

You will relate well to the cultural perspective of a large Aboriginal Community Controlled Health organisation.

• Base Salary: $77,707 – $90,616 (p.a.)
• Total Effective Package: $96,745 – $111,206 (p.a.) *
• Full Time, Continuous Contract

About the role

You will have:

• Degree qualification in Commerce, Finance or Economics (or equivalent) is desirable, and or equivalent relevant demonstrated experience
• A minimum of 4 years direct accounting experience
• Considerable experience in the use of computerised financial packages and payroll systems
• Highly competent use of Excel spread sheets for transferring financial information to the general ledger
• Highly developed experience in the preparation and interpretation of financial statements for use by senior management
• Thorough knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and professional reporting requirements
• Demonstrated sound decision making skills, analytical and conceptual skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly report writing
