The Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) is a project funded by the National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) and led by the University of Melbourne (UOM).

About Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network

AURIN is a national e-Infrastructure that links researchers, policy and decision-makers, from academia, government and industry, to data, analytical tools and visualisation components to improve decision making within Australia’s cities and regional areas. AURIN enables researchers to investigate areas such as transport and mobility, housing, employment, population health, liveability, disaster resilience and many others.

About the Role

The Finance Officer will work across multiple projects, ensuring their financial management is reliable, accurate and efficient. AURIN Projects involve professional, technical and research teams and the Finance Officer will enjoy working with many different people.

On a day-to-day basis, the incumbent will develop and maintain robust systems, processes and procedures that:

• Ensure accurate and efficient tracking of income, expenses and financial movements across multiple projects, sub-projects, and teams, and;
• Enable reliable planning, budgeting and forecasting across multiple projects, sub-projects and teams, addressing multiple and varied stakeholder needs, and;
• Support ad hoc reporting and fiscal enquiries and analysis.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience and sound skills in financial management. This role would suit an experienced bookkeeper or accounting professional.

You will have an eye for detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to independently interpret novel situations and provide expert advice on financial matters.

You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
