Staff Accountant

Chelsea Rhone, LLC is a boutique program manager specializing in professional liability for healthcare providers. Located in downtown Ann Arbor for the past 18 years, we place an industry-leading emphasis on delivering value, not just an insurance policy.

We are looking for someone to join our accounting team who loves being part of a team, is interested in questioning processes, enjoys digging into information (written and numerical) to find the answer to a question, and takes ownership of their responsibilities. This person will report directly to the controller.

Duties will include:

• Perform all accounts receivable activities for multiple insurance entities ranging in size from $65m to $1.2m
• Handle accounts payable for program manager and at least one of the subsidiary companies
• Support management, underwriting department and accounting leadership with key reports
• Maintain complete and accurate records in QB as well as proprietary billing and collection systems
• May perform assigned responsibilities of senior staff accountant to ensure adherence to deadlines

Education, Requirements & Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred; 10 years of accounting experience needed.
• Strong (intermediate to advanced) QuickBooks and Excel skills are a must.
• Ability to learn the use of new software applications as required.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
