Key Responsibilities
This position can be performed in hybrid. Candidate will be onsite for 1 day and 4 days working from home. This is subject to change base on business needs.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and execution of hardware and software testing related to Automated Driving and Active Safety Diagnostics as well as On-Board Diagnostics (OBD)regulatory requirements. This position involves a combination of analytical, in-vehicle and laboratory analysis, along with related performance verification to ensure robust execution of diagnostic and controls features.
Work closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams to understand diagnostic functional requirements and implement appropriate test plans and setup.
Develop comprehensive test plans related to hardware and software to support diagnostic strategies and algorithms for active safety related components.
Execute or lead others in the execution of test plans using SIL, HIL, and in-vehicle techniques for execution of development, Diagnostics Operation Evaluation (DOE) and Production Vehicle Evaluation (PVE) testing.
Develop project management plans and manage timing across team projects.
Oversee the fabrication of bench properties or test equipment such as harnesses, breakout boxes or fault insertion units.
Development and deployment of automated testing methodologies.
Seek synergies with GM’s global testing teams to improve testing efficiency and exchange best practices.
Work with vendors to stay abreast of industry changes in tool and methodologies and seek opportunities to adopt where appropriate.
Analyze and peer review test results and participate in data-driven system development initiatives.
Trouble shoot test setups and initial root cause analysis of issues found during testing.
Warranty analysis of diagnostic performance in the field to identify and escalate emerging issues.
Occasional Travel as required.

Additional Details on Required Qualifications
Experience with control system theory and Simulink modeling
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related degree; Electrical, Mechanical, ML, Computer Vision, AI, Computer Systems preferred.
Experience developing and executing test cases in various environments
Experience with embedded controller hardware, software, and communications
Experience with Automation Testing Methods
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, interfacing with GM engineers globally
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
Ability to travel to the United States (1-2 weeks in a year)
Valid Driver’s license for Ontario
Additional Details on Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing control or diagnostic system calibrations
Experience with dSPACE/Control Desk or similar HIL tools
Experience with CAN, LIN protocol and use of serial communication tools (ex CANoe/CANalyzer/Vspy)
Experience with ETAS/INCA, Intrepid/Vehicle Spy or similar DAQ tools
Familiar with CARB 1968.2 OBD II Regulations
Familiar with SAE J1979/1699 Standards
