The Opportunity

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Senior Finance Analyst to join the Central Finance team. The role is to provide sound financial analysis and advice in relation to project financial performance primarily against budget and forecast. The role prepares regular finance reporting for senior management review and provides business partner support to both Finance and Project Management teams to support the budgeting and forecasting processes and procedures. You will be involved in:

• Provide advice and detailed financial data analysis to inform business planning and facilitate business decision-making process
• Undertake comprehensive financial analysis and forecasting of performance to date and at end of year and prepare monthly project financial cost reports, half yearly forecast financial cost reports and periodic reports showing trends and variances and / or cost transfers
• Develop and maintain processes, systems and controls to ensure access to required information to enable the production of required financial information
• Manage and coordinate with the PMO function for the project, including cashflow management
• Coordinate the consolidated project finance reporting for Sydney Metro Board and to TfNSW for Project Portfolio Management and Project Structure modules (PPM/PS) on a monthly basis
• Submit data for the project budget, performance, monitoring and reporting in NSW Treasury reporting system (PRIME / Hyperion) for NSW Treasury consolidation
• Respond to enquiries regarding project expenditure and funding using, but not limited to SAP and Excel, and provide and interpret advice and data for reporting purposes
• Work collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to support the budgeting and forecasting processes and procedures

About you

You will have previous experience in similar position supported by relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent ideally with a background in corporate reporting and accounting. You will have comprehensive knowledge of and experience in asset management, including capital investment, for large infrastructure asset portfolios as well as good working knowledge of Government policy, Australian Accounting Standards, budgetary and priority setting processes.

You have proven ability to work across a large and complex organisation and to influence and motivate staff and other stakeholders. Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills and well developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including report writing and presentation skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of SAP and its associated reporting features, especially with reference to PPM/PS and SAP Analytics Cloud functions. Experience using PRIME / Hyperion will be highly regarded.

Essential requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in financial management and accounting and professional membership with either the CPA Australia (CPA) or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) relevant discipline, or equivalent experience

Salary and Benefits
