Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Reporting to the Senior Finance Director Pacific, this position oversees all Finance Operations processes for adidas Pacific (Australia & New Zealand) including core Accounting, Tax and Accounts Payables activities. Resulting, the roles’ key responsibility is the management and oversight of our month end financial closing process, as well as our year end audit and statutory accounts activities thereby ensuring full adherence to approved accounting standards and statutory requirements

In addition, cross-functional activities such as managing trade terms, overseeing financials aspects of our rebates/pricing programs, or engaging with our Global business partners in Finance-related projects are key responsibilities of this position. Through engaging with our GBS (Global Business Services) team in China, the role seeks to continuously identify opportunities for further collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for month end closing process – review and approval of month end closing entries
• Ensure accuracy of Financial Statements including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statements
• Review and approve of all outgoing payments prepared by GBS team. Ensure prompt payments to internal and external parties
• Manage addition and disposal of fixed assets. Organise fixed assets inventory count requirements
• Manage year-end audit and local statutory accounts process in partnership with external parties
• Oversee local tax requirements
• Co-ordination of the wholesale trade terms process and overseeing rebate management process
• Manage the price change process including analysis of price discrepancies
• Handling of internal audit requirements and ensuring full adherence to Global Finance Policies
• Analyse financial statements and highlight significant variance to management. Financial ad-hoc analysis in close collaboration with Senior Director Finance
• Constantly challenging the norm and ensuring development and delivery of accurate and relevant financial solutions
• Key contact in Pacific for Global/APAC Accounting related projects
• Leads a small Finance/Accounting team to ensure optimal alignment and high performance (1 Accountant and a part time Accounts Payable Coordinator.

• Experienced in month end closing procedures and year end audit requirements

Requisite Education & Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced degree or qualification in Accounting (e.g. CA/CPA)
• Working knowledge in handling full set of accounts; good knowledge of taxation
• Advanced excel skills
• Familiarity with SAP, COPA and other relevant adidas and industry Finance systems
• Familiar with local and International Accounting Standards and Tax regulations
• 8-10 years of broad-based operational finance experience with progressive responsibility in industry leading companies. Preferable experience in the retail, sport or clothing industry
• Team lead experience
