Solomon Page Fashion & Beauty Hiring for ART DIRECTOR – Relocation South at New York, New York Full Time

Our client, a rapidly growing business, is seeking an Art Director to provide stylistic direction for their expanding business with an evolving aesthetic.  Will be responsible for organizing and synchronizing production artists, photographers, retouchers, illustrators, prepress technicians, printers, etc.  Responsible for selecting vendors and establishing quality control as the gate keeper before final sign off with Creative Director, Merchandisers, and Marketing.  Although this is an Art Director role with management responsibility, you will be responsible for some design work too – pitching in, mentoring, and designing catalogs, flyers, landing pages, email promos/e-blasts, Google re-targeting ads, and various Facebook images as necessary.

This can be a remote role if the candidate is based in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Minnesota, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, or Wisconsin.  Client will offer assistance in relocation to Florida if not residing in these areas.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure compelling work / designs for print and online projects are presented on time
• Assign tasks / projects to the appropriate Graphic Designer / Production artist
• Plan for a project’s photography needs including selecting models, preparing shoot lists and props, photo styling, etc.
• Quality control focus for color and creative details of product
• Train new hires on current processes
• Research competition and share and introduce new technologies for elevation and market competitors

Qualifications:

• Experience evolving a brand / creating a vision
• Experience working in an Ecommerce, Apparel / Retail, or Catalog company or an agency supporting one of these businesses
• Strong visual skills and problem-solving ability
• Excellent communication, presentation skills for leadership, your team and cross-functionals
• Extremely detail oriented with project management skill
• Computer literacy in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, WorkFront, Microsoft Excel, Office, and Adobe Acrobat
• Basic understanding of Responsive Web Design
