The 10-foot viewing experience is a critical part of the CNN+ product offering.As Director of Engineering, CNN+ 10-foot Devices, you will be responsible for recruiting, building, and leading several engineering teams. These teams will be focused on developing world-class connected TV and set-top box streaming video applications, across an ever-growing number of devices and platforms, in order to bring CNN+ to our users!At WarnerMedia, we care deeply about our team culture and values. To be successful in this role, you’ll need excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate a wide range of contexts – from code reviewing a bug fix, to untangling dependencies between multiple engineering teams, to updating executive leadership on progress towards long term roadmaps. You’ll also be responsible for defining roadmaps, and ensuring that your teams have the context, support, and processes they need in order to make predictable progress towards those goals. If you have experience in setting teams up for success, and helping them stay on that path over time, this is a great opportunity to put that experience to work on a high profile, impactful, and rapidly growing product area within CNN+. The DailyHold 1-on-1s with your reports, where you’ll deliver feedback, set goals, and coach them on how to advance their careers.Lead or be involved in design, discovery, technical planning, and status discussions within your teams, where you’ll help set direction and context, and identify any gaps or blockers.Lead or be involved in discussions around high level planning, roadmaps, and status with executive leadership and teams across the organization.Work with the Talent Acquisition team to prioritize, source, interview, hire, and onboard team members.Work directly with your teams to establish and maintain sustainable software development processes – daily standup, code reviews, testing and automation, etc. The EssentialsSignificant experience in engineering management, including both technical mentorship, and career and performance management.Demonstrated experience in developing, shipping, and maintaining digital media applications on 10-foot devices.Excellent written and oral communication skills, and experience in effectively communicating with a wide range of technical and non-technical job functions within an organization.Demonstrated experience and success in hiring high performing teams.A track record of defining meaningful goals, and driving progress towards those goals while maintaining sustainable engineering practices.
