Job Purpose
The Mechatronics Process Enginner role will take an active role in implementing our current manufacturing processes to secure the customer deliveries.
Major Responsibilities
Within the production department, the process engineer pilots and oversees:
The initial manufacturing (demonstrators, prototypes) with product engineering department and considers industrial constraints (participate to DFMEA and pilot the PFMEA)
The industrialization of new products to achieve the objectives required by SKF Magnetic Mechatronics customers in terms of quality, costs and deadlines.
Build the industrial strategy in term of flow chart, make or buy study, process validation plan, maturity process design,…)
Define the assembly time for sub assembly and product
Pilot the design and the manufacturing of the tools and jigs (with HSE constraints consider)
Build the industrial folder (BOM, process flow, Control sheet, Process specifications)
Train the production team for the ramp-up phase.
Participate to the transfer to the suppliers in accordance to the MoB study
Realize the « First article inspection » (FAI) in collaboration with quality department
Analyse, identify and pilot the action plan for the ramp-up of the production. (capacity, productivity)
Realize technical studies to improve the robustness of the process (R&R, capability, process key parameters, …)
Build the process validation plan
Identify process key parameters with impact on the product characteristics and how control/monitor them.
Build the technical specification and investment request document for new equipment.
Identify the improvement actions list with the saving and the budget associated
Chose, apply and train the teams on the SKF Production System toolbox:
Mainly on Stability tools: Daily management, 5S, Maintenance, Resetting, Flow tools: Channel Concept, Master Scheduling, Lean Layout
And participates with Lean workshop and standardization of processes and the optimization of the manufacturing documentation.
And other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualitifications
Bachelor’s / Engineer degree with electromechanics / mechatronics skills
3 – 5 years of relevant knowledge and experience in the production of small series, with good knowledge on:
Electrical engineering and experience in the manufacture of electric motors (winding, wiring, impregnation)
ISO measurement, tool design, etc.
Construction of industrial file and management of BOM / ERP range
Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, TOC 5S, or other lean tools :
Problem solving tools (8D, DMAIC, PDCA …)
Multi Flow approach (Material, People, Process, Equipment, Finish Goods, Information, Engineering)
Tool design (2D/3D study) and follow the realization by suppliers
Good working knowledge of Office 365.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment for value creation through sound work ethics and excellence.
Motivated self-starter with careful attention to detail
Purposeful Action Taker: Eager to learn, takes initiative in addressing customer needs and looking for solutions
Requirements
Travel approximately 5% of time at customer sites
