Job description

We’re looking for someone to help us with our Aveea Academy Lunchtime Sessions. Our sessions bring STEM concepts to life, this means coding with robots, building bridges and towers, filtering and purifying dirty water and even cleaning up oil spills… all in the classroom.

You’ll get to work with KS1 and KS2 children of varying educational needs.

Responsibilities

• Helping leaders with STEM sessions
• Setting up material and equipment
• Understanding the Health and Safety of the experiments in a school setting.
• Help maintain a positive learning environment where pupils can feel confident and learn freely.
• Helping pupils with experiments not afraid to get involved hands on

Requirements

• Be passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people.
• Experience working with children (formal experience not required).
• An understanding on STEM concepts and an eagerness to learn.
• Mobile and can attend sessions during lunchtime 12-1pm.
• DBS isn’t necessary to apply, but it means a quicker start. Must be eligible to work in schools.
• Students welcome (A-Level and University).

Part-time hours: 2-4 per week (LE4 Postcode)

Working in schools we ask all our employees to undertake weekly Lateral Flow Tests, we are informed by the school of any pupils that are absent due to testing positive for Covid and inform our staff accordingly.
