General Motors Hiring for Connectivity Developer-Software Defined Vehicle at Markham, ON Full Time

Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the entire software engineering process, including new feature development, porting from one Android version to another, and porting to newer hardware platforms

Initial assignment will be focused to support USB subsystem in the vehicle

Participate in architecture, requirements, design, code, and test case reviews

Provide clear and complete documentation based on the definition of the software development process

Work on maintenance of existing features and bug fixes

Collaborate with team members in software development activities using the Scrum/Agile/SAFe development process

Required skills

Ideal candidate will be with 7+ years of software development experience and will have good expertise in Android frameworks. Must be proficient in object-oriented design in either C++ or Java, preferably both, and in operating system fundamentals

Experience with large code bases, developing entirely new code and maintaining existing code

Experience with Git, Jenkins, Android-Studio, Vim and tools like GIT, SVN or ClearCase

Experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe development process and tools

Creative, disciplined, strong sense of responsibility, and schedule oriented

Ability to investigate issues based on limited information. Demonstrated high level of analytical ability to resolve complex problems

Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering/Embedded Systems/Electronics or equivalent field

Additional Job Description

Skills and experience in the following areas are desirable: C++, Java, design patterns, multi-threaded programming, Android OS, Android SDK, Junit, Linux kernel, embedded platforms, ADB, protocol analyzers, tracing, debugging

Python, Kotlin, device drivers (preferably in Android/Linux), USB, Gradle, Amake, Gnu tools including GDB, networking, init.rc, Selinux, QNX, hypervisors
