The Department of Psychology is seeking a Reader in Learning and Teaching to join the Senior Leadership Group (SLG) and to lead on strengthening our education performance.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced academic who will lead on education performance in the Department of Psychology led by Dr Jo Ashby.
You will work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Group (SLG) to support the successful achievement of Department and Faculty Education KPIs. In addition to working with the Department (SMT) you will work within a matrix management framework supporting the activity of the Faculty Head of Education, Faculty Head of research Knowledge Exchange and Faculty Head of International.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have a relevant psychology related PhD and experience in delivering on successful education initiatives linked to key areas such as progression, retention, good honours, inclusive education, and employability. They will be confident to work across a large department to develop staff on the Education, Pedagogy and Citizenship career pathway.
In addition, you will have experience in leading a team of academics and developing strategic responses to varied Key Performance Indicators. In particular, the role will support the Department in ensuring that our student offer equips students with the skills and attributes demanded by graduate employers.
