Director, Portfolio Specialist

Position

AMG Funds is seeking a Portfolio Specialist for a remote position. The Portfolio Specialist supports efforts to manage the investment communications around key focus products within the AMG Funds (‘AMGF’) investment lineup. The Portfolio Specialist will work closely with AMGF’s Distribution organization (Sales, National Accounts and Marketing) in properly positioning the Firm’s key focus products in the marketplace and serve as a key internal advocate for those portfolios. The Portfolio Specialist also supports the Firm’s subadvisory oversight process by working in close conjunction with AMGF’s various operational groups.

Principal Responsibilities

• Maintains deep expertise for assigned investment management solutions and disciplines.
• Works in conjunction with AMGF’s Legal & Compliance, Fund Administration and Product Analytics teams as part of fiduciary oversight of assigned investment products.
• Educates internal and external parties about assigned investment products including providing timely updates on key talking points, performance, positioning and outlook of portfolios.
• Responds to specific portfolio related questions on assigned products.
• Maintains strong knowledge of the financial markets, both past and present.
• Participates with sales and distribution process by participating in trainings, meetings and conference calls while acting as an internal product support expert.
• Reviews and analyzes analytics, reports and summaries for assigned portfolios and the markets.
• Develops relationships with appropriate professionals at Affiliate subadvisors.
• Prepares and delivers investment results, both in written and oral form, to both internal and external interested parties.
• Maintains knowledge and understanding of key competitors and similarly positioned investment managers.

• Strong knowledge of the investment management industry and subadvisory mutual fund structure.
• Solid communication and presentation skills in variety of settings.
• Detail oriented, meets deadlines and executes responsibilities with minimal errors.
• Prioritizes, plans and takes initiative. Highly motivated.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with knowledge of FactSet and Morningstar a plus.
• Knowledge of AMG Funds investment products a plus.
• Excels in a fast-paced and time sensitive environment.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Ability to travel periodically.
• CFA (or progress towards) and/or advanced degree preferred. Seven to ten years of investment-related research/specialist experience or equivalent.
• Will be required to obtain Series 7 and 63 (or equivalent licenses) if not already licensed.
