While robots make the deliveries, numbers run the business. In the Finance Department, we see ourselves as a business partner and enabler for our operating teams and management. We facilitate a smart corporate and financial strategy with technical expertise across accounting, regulatory, tax, and strategic financial planning & analysis, allowing Starship to make educated decisions at every step. We believe in the power of numbers and the story they tell. We are now looking for a Head of Finance to join our Finance team whose key role is to shape the Finance landscape of Starship, including building and leading a best-in-class Finance team. Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the management team you shall become the guardian of the company’s cash management from day 1.

This position will be located in either San Francisco (US), London (UK) and/or Tallinn (Estonia).*

Your key responsibilities shall include

• Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the ELT to make critical business decisions
• Play a key role in the formulation of the business’s strategy
• Work head to head with the company’s CFO in any applicable topic
• Managing relationships with Investors (where applicable)
• Investment appraisal and analysis
• Recruitment, training, mentoring and development of staff
• Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting functions
• Managing the External Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant with accounting standards
• Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
• Proactively look for opportunities and projects to improve financial performance and deliver high results in an autonomous way
• Participate in presentations to relevant stakeholders about the performance of the company & business units

Minimum Qualifications:

• 6+ years’ experience in a senior financial managerial position with a proven record of success
• Sound decision making skills based on accurate and timely analyses
• Results oriented and metrics driven
• Exceptional time management and able to solve problems
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills, with the ability to communicate and manage staff at all levels
• Ability to lead by example and demonstrate a strong sense of integrity, ethics and dependability
• Professional written and oral communication skills
• Confident to present results to an audience
• Strategic thinking, planning and creative problem-solving skills
• Ability to collaborate with upper management to organize, plan and achieve company financial goals
• Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and financial reporting software
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred)
• G Suite expert (Sheets, Presentations), Office Suite expert (Excel), Good understanding of SQL
• Advanced command of English
