You and your team

Reporting to Talent Director, the Talent Acquisition Lead Technology & Change is responsible for defining the strategy and managing and implementing a professional and efficient Talent Acquisition service. Each role will likely have one or more direct reports, Specialist – Talent Acquisition depending on volumes and the nature of the roles they look after:

  • Developing and deploying the Hiring strategy for individual area of expertise (Analytics & HOSS,
Exec/Operations/Tech, Change and Digital)
  • Supporting the Director, Talent to define the overall Talent Attraction strategy for VBL and
identifying process improvements and initiatives to mature the TA function
  • Undertaking project responsibilities (as allocated to each role holder to lead) to mature the TA
function, drive efficiency and improve line manager capability
  • Sourcing key talent directly and working collectively with the Specialists – Talent Aquisition to deliver
on plan hiring targets against agreed KPIs such as time to hire, diversity balance and direct
recruitment
  • Defining and creating the assessment methodologies appropriate to each business area of hiring
campaign
  • Defining and delivering a robust employer brand campaigns via social channels and events
  • Evaluate the success of hiring campaigns by reviewing colleague feedback and leavers data
  • Partner with Senior HRBPs and Talent Peers to ensure hiring and retention is optimised,
stakeholders are engaged, and candidate experience is optimised
  • Act as line manager and coach/mentor to Specialist – Talent Acquisition, supporting personal
development and best practice
  • Report and track hiring against costs and SLAs, ensure MI is accurate and timely
  • Manage governance and compliance for recruitment processes and educate and manage recruiting
managers to ensure processes and procedures are understood. (Especially in cases of recruiting MRT
roles, ensuring budget is tracked and managed, personal data and GDPR rules and salary guidance
is compliant.
  • Ensuring an effective relationship with Finance to ensure all hiring activity is delivered within
resourcing and salary and benefits budgets, that governance and compliance rules are followed to
ensure approvals are in place.

What you bring to the team

  • Direct sourcing experience across a core discipline
  • Experience of implementing change, demonstrating technical expertise and Project Management of
key continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience of working with an ATS system
  • Experience of increasing recruiting manager capability and improving recruitment best practice and
legal compliance
  • Resource planning and resourcing strategy solutions
  • Experience of line management and developing recruitment expertise in junior staff
  • Experience of working within a fast paced and multi-faceted department with a keen eye for detail
and understanding of when to escalate potential challenges
  • Good understanding of the latest and most relevant tools for attracting candidates
  • Knowledge and experience of ATS and other TA focused databases and systems
  • Understanding of GDPR compliance in relation to Talent Acquisition data
  • Experience of liaising and communicating with Manager level individuals adapting communication
style as appropriate

  • Location – London/Chatham/Bradford
  • 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday – Flexible working
  • Dynamic working environment (WFH)
  • Occasional visits to other offices locations may be required (London, Chatham, Bradford)
