Job Summary

As a private tutor for Level Up Education, you’ll provide students with tailored tuition online and offer specialist skills, methods or approaches to support individual learning needs. Deliver a service that help students progress in their study and learning, apply effective methods of understanding and problem solving, and prepare effectively for exams or tests.

Key Responsibilities

• Flexibility in being able to deliver online tutoring for small groups
• Schedule and plan individual tutoring sessions for your students
• Provide tuition that is appropriate for the individual’s needs and study level
• Be aware of different learner needs when delivering a lesson
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum content and qualification frameworks you’re providing subject tuition in
• Use relevant and up to date methods and materials
• Deliver online lessons which are interactive and engaging whilst facilitating online forums such as group chats and quizzes.
• Deliver a professional service
• Communicate with parents/carers about the progress of learners when required.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

• Current Enhanced DBS certified
• Previous tutoring experience
• Qualified in your taught subject to a minimum level that you teach
• A strong understanding of the subject(s) you tutor in
• Familiarity with the UK national curriculum
• Organisational skills to keep track of session dates and times
• IT literate with experience of running online tutoring/classes

Desirable

• Degree qualified, preferably in the taught subject
• Post graduate degree in teaching
• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
• School/College teaching experience

Technical Requirements

• Windows or Mac Desktop/Laptop or Tablet (preferably with a stylus to write).
• Video conferencing account with
• Zoom/Teams/Cisco Webex (min 60 mins)
• Webcam/HD external camera
• Headset/Microphone
• 4 GB RAM memory or more
• At least 4Mbps download speed and 8Mbps upload speed

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: £18.00-£23.00 per hour
