Software Development Manager

Position Summary

Come join Bicycle Technologies International (BTI) as a full-time software development manager supporting our operations in New Mexico and Nevada. Interaction with IT, management, sales, purchasing, marketing, and warehouse staff is essential in this role.

Job Duties Summary

• Work with colleagues to gather and document specifications for new software projects
• Break up large projects into appropriate pieces for parallel development
• Match up development assignments with the best dev(s) for the job
• Work with developers to make sure they can keep projects moving forward
• Preside over code review and testing processes
• Preside over code documentation procedure and curation
• Preside over quality assurance in the domains of coding standards, visual and UX design standards, software performance, and error-free execution
• Assist in hiring and mentoring software developers
• Develop and enforce software development processes and standards
• Software development tasks as time permits
• Other duties as assigned

Work Environment

This position can be performed at BTI’s offices in Santa Fe, NM, or remotely. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently sits at a desk, uses a personal computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

Position Requirements

Experience

Minimum of three years of experience in related field. BTI prefers five years of progressive responsibility in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Skills

• Web application development, preferably with experience in Ruby on Rails
• Front end development including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, preferably with jQuery
• Visual design and UI/UX
• Relational databases
• Version management with git
• Knowledge of software development best practices throughout the software development life cycle
• Project management
• Software documentation systems
• Software quality control and testing
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Pay: $90,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
