About The Role

Location: West Musgrave
Roster: 5:2, flexible working arrangement
Reporting to: Manager Commercial
Contract Type: 9 months Fixed Term

The Details

Reporting to the Manager – Commercial, you will support the Project capability required to deliver the West Musgrave project through the FS phase in support or OZ Minerals growth strategy.

Our team is responsible for delivering the Study for Australia’s largest undeveloped copper-nickel resources. It is a multi-disciplined team that is agile and active in its pursuit of realising value for all our stakeholders. Subject to a robust Feasibility Study outcome and further approvals the team will develop the necessary infrastructure to bring OZ Minerals next major Asset online.

Leaving hierarchy at the door, you will build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and have a relentless focus on collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Analyst role will focus on ensuring the West Musgrave Project Feasibility Study is safely delivered. Specifically, this includes:

• Ensuring all financial modelling and analyses are prepared in a timely manner and in accordance with best practice
• Analyse and clearly articulate the sources of value and risks inherent within the project valuation
• Critically analyse and constructively challenge project assumptions, perform benchmarking to support analysis
• Deliver clearly articulated valuation to support business case and investment decision
• Deliver early valuation for opportunities and threats
• Understand all key value drivers and capable of modifying / constructing operating cost model (incl. sustaining capital forecast) for processing, G&A & mining

Applicant Requirements

This role requires a self-motivated, hands on and values-based individual with a desire to deliver best practice outcomes with skills, experience, and personal attributes including:

• You’re energetic and a strong collaborator who can partner with the internal and external stakeholders
• An expert user of Excel and related systems who can quickly build and analyse financial information
• You have commercial acumen, and eager to learn to assess financial impacts, risks (threats and opportunities) and uncertainties
• An ability to use data-driven approach, work with technical subject matter experts and quickly grasp technical problems and complex issues, with the ability to synthesise into digestible outputs
• You have excellent communication skills and are adaptive to change.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering or related field. Post graduate qualification such as MBA preferred
• Study experience preferred
