ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for hourly and salary payroll processing for all company entities.
• Payroll general accounting related duties including: financial reporting and analysis, preparation of month-end and accrual general journal entries, associated balance sheet account reconciliations, payroll account bank reconciliation and journal entry.
• Review travel and entertainment spending and assist in administering the Company’s T&E policy, ensuring compliance and preparation of month-end T&E journal entries and accruals.
• Audit all employee related insurance billings and prepare monthly allocation general journal entries.
• Initiate John Hancock 401K payments and review/approve subsequent ACH payment requests.
• Document daily Discovery FSA & HSA reports and review/approve subsequent ACH payment requests.
• Support and collaborate with Accounts Payable staff and support overall department goals and objectives including annual preparation of 1099’s.
• Maintain and process all 3rd Party Service provider invoices and reconcile clearing account.
• Special projects related to Payroll (i.e. State Grant, prepare schedules for State tax returns, etc.).
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the Accounting Manager or Director of Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor Degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university. BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting is preferred.

2. A least 2 to 4 years of related accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing company. Food and Beverage experience is a plus.

3. Continuing education towards CPA or CMA certification is a plus but not required.

SKILLS

1. Must have general accounting experience plus previous payroll processing experience is required.

2. Must be PC proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics or other large ERP accounting system a plus. Must have experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.

3. Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines is required

4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.50 per hour
